Astrid Boe Hüttel
Astrid Boe Hüttel is an anthropologist and ethnographer specialised within the intersecting field of medical- and political anthropology. She is currently working as a qualitative researcher at the Institute for Public Goods and Policies (IPP) at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid. As part of the IfGene project she analyses online discourses on preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) presented by Spanish fertility clinics on their webpages and social media, with a special attention to the discursive construction on preconception parenthood.
Besides her experience within the field on assisted reproduction, she has been involved in research on disability and mental health often applying a feminist and intersectional approach.
She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social anthropology from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark).
